We respect your privacy. Any information collected at this site is entirely confidential and will not be distributed, disclosed or traded with anyone.

Filmedinburgh.org does not collect 'personally identifying information' about individuals except when specifically and knowingly provided by such individuals.

The only 'personally identifying information' we do collect is through forms that you choose to fill in. These are:

Register
We ask you to complete the 'Location Database & Website Form' to give us permission to hold information about your property. We ask for your contact information and location, information about your property, and contact information for anyone else who would need to be contacted regarding your property being used as a location. We store your data in offline databases until it is no longer valid; for instance, if you tell us you no longer want to be a filming location or you no longer own the property. If you wish to modify or remove your data you can do so simply by contacting us at info@filmedinburgh.org. All the information provided on this form is managed in accord with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and is not made public without the owner's permission.
To protect the location owner's privacy, locations shown on the website are identified by a reference number only unless they are open to the public and have a website. Owners have the choice of whether Film Edinburgh links to their site or not. Location owners can also choose not to have their property shown on the site.
Enquiry
We ask you for your contact information so that we can get back to you, and we also ask you for the country you are contacting us from so that we can monitor where interest is coming from. Beyond this, you can help us further by supplying us with information about the production. This information is stored on a secure drive and used to monitor which productions come to our area. All the information provided on this form is managed in accord with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and is not made public without the owner's permission.
Add/Amend
The Production Guide is a listing of local crew, services and facilities. Everyone included in the guide has given us permission to do so. To add or alter your details, we ask for a minimum of contact information - your name, your town and your phone number - and a brief summary about what you do. By completing the form, you are agreeing to the information you give us being posted online in the Production Guide. We contact all entries in the Production Guide on an annual basis to make sure they are still valid and correct. However, you can modify or remove your record from the Production Guide any time by contacting us on film@edinburgh.gov.uk. If you do decide to give us 'personally identifying information' this information' will not be sold, rented or distributed to any other party.

Information Automatically Logged

While your 'personally identifying information' is protected as outlined above, we sometimes collect what is legally referred to as 'anonymous aggregated data' - information that relates simply to you as a generic person and not an individual - for statistical purposes. This information is gathered through cookies, and analysed by us to create profiles for the separate parts of the site.

We look at this data because we like to know what parts of our site are visited often, those which are not, and which are the most popular. This information means that we can improve the site and concentrate on making sure that it provides you with the information you want.

Cookies

Filmedinburgh.org uses cookies to gather anonymous aggregated data. A cookie is a small piece of information.
